Rev. Matthew Hambrick is our senior pastor and has been in ministry in the United Methodist Church for seventeen years. He started pastoring after studying philosophy and religion for over ten years at Point Loma Nazarene University and Claremont School of Theology. It was while he was at seminary that he found his passion for gathering communities made up of people left out or criticized by traditional churches. His favorite part of ministry is hearing the stories of the grace and redemptive love of a God who loves us exactly as we are. He has been married to his wife Christina for 23 years and together they have a sixteen-year-old daughter, Kat.

Rev. Dr. Brian Tipton

Rev. Dr. Brian Tipton is the Teaching Pastor at Mesa Verde UMC, sharing his gifts with us and churches in Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, and Costa Mesa.

Pastor Brian's calling is to guide others—academically, theologically, emotionally, spiritually, and in life. He’s helped many navigate their journeys, celebrating victories and facing challenges, always reminding them they are God's beloved.

As an adjunct faculty member teaching New Testament courses, he guides students in biblical interpretation and faith, supporting them through seminary and life's trials. This unique connection deepens his role as a guide, enriching both his and his students' journeys in faith.
